The Compliance Program Manager manages the Firm’s compliance with client requirements and ensures the Firm’s vendors provide services in adherence with these requirements. The Compliance Program Manager partners with attorneys and other departments (business process owners) to implement and enhance compliance procedures, and prepares compliance reports for attorneys and senior management.
Ensures client audit requests are responded to in a timely fashion, collaborates with attorneys and applicable business process owners to ensure answers are accurate and properly described, and ensures back up documentation is provided as needed.
Acts as a conduit between client and firm to resolve client audit questions/issues as requested by the responsible attorney.
Manages the firm’s Outside Counsel Guidelines review process.
Reviews vendor governance strategy and risk monitoring process to ensure a streamlined approach for fulfilling internal and client standards of compliance.
Advises business process owners of process requirements, responsibilities, potential risks, and their oversight responsibilities in relation to the vendor as it relates to client requirements.
In collaboration with business process owner, ensures that applicable client requirements are addressed in vendor contracts.
In collaboration with business process owner, consistently monitors vendor activity to ensure they are operating within the terms of the negotiated contract with respect to client requirements.
In collaboration with business process owner, screens and determines documentation needed to evaluate new vendors with respect to client requirements. Work with Business Owners to complete due diligence and risk assessments for new vendors.
Develop processes and policies for vendor risk identification, due diligence and contract review.Development of Compliance Practice
Define internal compliance policies in conjunction with General Counsel, Firm Management and IT Security.
Identifies and/or creates tools and templates to facilitate efficiency and accuracy in client audit responses.
Designs and implements internal compliance policies and procedures.
Assesses internal compliance processes for alignment with client policies.
Leads technology initiatives to enable more efficient processes and operations related to compliance.
Prepares reports for the General Counsel, attorneys and senior management on the status of compliance efforts.
Develops and maintains training modules for internal departments to ensure compliance is embedded into applicable processes.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree required. J.D., MBA or advanced degree preferred.
7 years of experience in related field: compliance, audit or operations control.
Ability to read and interpret contracts and work with firm counsel as needed on contract language and requirements.
Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients including attorneys, management, other staff, clients of the firm and vendors.
Excellent customer service skills to effectively manage internal and external client expectations and build relationships.
Ability to challenge current ideas, methods and processes, proposing alternatives in a way that creates trust and builds consultative relationships.
Ability to organize and prioritize multiple assignments, using judgment and initiative to accomplish results. Produce accurate work while meeting time-sensitive deadlines.
