The Litigation Support Specialist will assist in the area of ESI processing. This includes, but is not limited to, the processing of ESI using LAW PreDiscovery and/or Iconect Xera; engaging with legal teams to provide technical support and assistance with the planning, design, development, application and implementation of technology and database systems such as Iconect Xera, Livenote, West Case Notebook, Casemap and iPRO, as well as external web-based document repositories.
The Litigation Support Specialist must:
Maintain a regular work schedule. The firm has an 8 hour workday, with modified flex starting/ending times.
Be able to take ownership of and responsibility for assignments, including but not limited to, quality control and a strong willingness to see tasks completed in a correct, successful and timely manner;
Have an understanding of standard litigation support procedures and concepts, and should be familiar with electronic evidence rules and laws;
Have experience with LAW PreDiscovery, Nuix and/or other processing suites;
Be able to quickly learn new software and procedures;
Exercise good judgment and show initiative in resolving problems and completing assignments;
Be able to organize, plan and prioritize workload;
Work well under pressure and in a team environment;
Possess effective communication skills: Must be able to listen as well as communicate both verbally and in writing;
Organize and prioritize tasks and projects between or among lawyers and staff in a manner which will satisfy all deadlines required.
Maintain calendar and follow-up on requests made by attorneys, staff and clients.
Maintain the confidentiality of all client and firm matters, recognizing that there should be no comments or discussions at all, either in public areas, elevators or restaurants.
Be willing to pitch in and help fellow workers and/or other attorneys – the office functions on a team relationship and therefore, it is essential that the Litigation Support Specialist be not only willing when asked, but volunteer when time permits to assist others with overflow work.
Suggest and attend training classes to maintain an acceptable level of performance in the Firm’s technology.
Complete an accurate Semi-Monthly Time Record of time worked and leave taken each pay period and submit signed records to payroll on the appropriate due dates and times.
