The SharePoint Search Administrator will be responsible for the technical customizations and support of the firm’s search applications, including but are not limited to: SharePoint Search, Enterprise Search, and 3rd party search connectors. The candidate for this role will leverage SharePoint Server 2013 administration/development skills and experience to implement and document customizations to SharePoint Search, Business Data Connectivity service applications as well as 3rd party search connectors, classifiers, and web services.
This role will be instrumental in the firm’s enterprise search initiative to create a uniform interface for searching firm data stored in a variety of systems. The SharePoint Search Administrator will work closely with the SharePoint Platform Manager and Senior Manager of KM Technology & Innovation to identify key deliverables and build solutions that align with the firm’s strategic initiatives. Assist in troubleshooting technical SharePoint issues, and liaising with Enterprise Systems, the KM Content team, Applications Development, System Owners, Data Governance, User Support and the Project Management Office.
Maintain 3rd party suite of products including: Search federator, auto-classifier, CEWS; Search Query Tool; and metric tools.
Automate common search tasks (provision of search service application, new managed properties, etc.) using Microsoft PowerShell
Deploy customizations to the Search platform using standard SharePoint deployment methodologies
Participate in determining the technical roadmap and strategy for selected search products.
Oversee selection, customization, integration, upgrades and ongoing support of selected search products.
Collaborate with Enterprise Systems to ensure and validate that the search applications, indexes, and servers are running effectively, updated appropriately, secured and supported.
Keep apprised of new features for the specific suite of search products under his/her management and keep KM team, trainers and user support informed of changes to the product feature set through updates to documentation and periodic product reviews.
Troubleshoot infoNet, Extranet, and Client Portal IQ Track tickets escalated from KMCM.
Monitor the day-to-day and monthly health and security of the search applications ensuring that business users are finding relevant results and content permission is applied.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science
3+ Years maintaining a SharePoint/Fast Search Environment
Strong understanding of SQL Server and data management (3-5 years)
Experience with SharePoint administration required (3-5 years)
Expert knowledge of SharePoint Designer, including: External Content Types, and Data Connections
Strong project management skills (3-5 years)
Familiarity with taxonomy and metadata strategies and governance (2-3 years)
Excellent analytical skills are required and must be able to troubleshoot technical issues independently using browser developer tools, ULS logs, and performance metrics.
Good presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and representatives from a variety of business functions
Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to work in a dynamic environment
Law Firm experience desirable
