The Writer - Survey Specialist is responsible for coordinating directory and survey submissions; maintaining a national directory and survey calendar; and making recommendations on directory and survey strategy.The Writer - Survey Specialist must maintain professionalism and strict confidentiality in all client and Firm matters. Duties to include but not limited to the following:
Draft and proof all individual office, nationwide, and international submissions for directories such as Chambers and Legal 500, using previous years’ submissions and other research material, in consultation with appropriate partners.
Compile all preparatory materials in advance of directory interviews (submissions, past year’s rankings, peer intelligence, etc.).
Work with Marketing Managers to develop strategy around practice group and firmwide submissions.
Maintain directory timeline and calendar (which partners are interviewed and when, who is responsible for submission, etc.).
Work with media relations team on individual nominations as appropriate.
Develop a list of references for use within directories, prioritizing references as appropriate. Repurpose submissions for other directories, coordinating updates as appropriate.
Maintain library of submissions.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, and a minimum of 3-5 years of marketing experience preferably in a large legal or professional services firm; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer proficient with excellent technological skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).
Must have exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) with excellent grammar, spelling, punctuation, and proofreading skills.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to compile and analyze data, gather information, and effectively communicate information verbally, in writing, by report, or in e-mail format.
Exhibit high degree of initiative with excellent troubleshooting, problem solving, and follow-through skills in order to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, detailed-oriented work environment.
Dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with others in a team-oriented environment. Ability to work independently and make decisions based upon results of research and within scope of the position’s responsibilities.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with courtesy and diplomacy, efficiently follow written and verbal instructions, provide information, and maintain effective relationships with a diverse group of attorneys, clients, staff, and outside vendors/contacts.
