The Global Financial Systems Analyst III is responsible and accountable for Financial and Accounting Applications maintenance and support activities, enhancements to existing functionality and development and/or implementation of new modules or packages. This position is accountable for developing and managing a global portfolio of applications and works closely with various IT and Accounting/Finance areas to ensure alignment with firm and client business requirements.
Responsible for multiple concurrent large and complex projects
Maintain a high level of responsiveness to customer calls and inquiries
As required, liaise between Firm management, sponsors, users and other IT personnel to communicate issues regarding overall operations status, operations strategy and plans
Where appropriate, attend user groups independently or with senior managers
Develop written and oral communications that clearly explain technical concepts using non-technical language; effectively communicate to management and users technology and process pros/cons, IT strategies and trade-offs
Responsible for evaluation of new financial products/applications deemed to be appropriate for the Firm’s business
Make recommendations to improve the use of all Firm desktop financial applications
Contribute to financial applications user and systems needs analysis and requirements definition projects
Develop and review data design, interface, user, functional and technical design documentation
Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results
Design, code, test, debug programs
Perform relevant telephone and desk side support to all staff on all financial applications supported by the Firm
With guidance, make recommendations to improve the use of all Firm desktop financial applications
Bachelor’s degree in the field of Computer Science or Information Systems or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree when the experience is closely related to the functions of the job
6+ years experience working in a IT systems applications environment, preferably in a professional partnership (e.g. law firm)
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio
An in-depth knowledge of enterprise level Aderant Expert technology (front and back end) in order to understand and validate requests coming from both the Business and Technical staff
6+ years working with relevant client-server and web-compliant development tools and products
5+ years managing high-performance back-office and administrative support systems, including Aderant Expert, and other Finance & Accounting custom and packaged applications
Excellent working knowledge of relational databases
Strong adaptability to changing organizational needs
Ability to act as a role model for other members of the department regarding leadership, work ethic, self-improvement, and career development
Light lifting; up to 30 lbs.
