Monitor and maintain the security status of the Firm’s network and the intellectual assets held, in accordance with the Firm’s security policies
Ensure that Mayer Brown LLP has secure architecture for authorization and authentication internally, as well as business to business
Ensure that all security risks are managed and communicated clearly and effectively
Ensure that information is openly communicated and shared to other members of the team, and documentation of all work undertaken is kept up to date and instantly available
Ensure that objectives are achieved by working closely with all Firm departments as necessary, and in collaboration with the Global Director of Information Security and Global Security team
Ensure that change controls are adhered to and communicated to the Partners and staff
Control access to the Firm’s Information Systems and related security configuration
Develop, implement, operate and maintain in-house software security
Comply with legal and policy requirements including reviewing/commenting on client audits received by the Firm
Detect and respond to incidents of a security nature within the Mayer Brown LLP environment
Serve as a liaison to the General Counsel in e-Discovery related matters, executing searches and producing output as required by the Firm
Ensure monitoring and alert notifications are implemented in accordance with business needs
Assist in the development and authorization process of all new IT policies, ensuring that the necessary security audits and tests are carried out prior to being introduced into production
Ensure that the implementation of information security is regularly reviewed by an approved independent party
Monitor methods of physical data security (such as the storage of backup media) and propose/implement any changes where necessary
Ensure whenever possible that undesirable use of IT facilities is prevented/minimized at all times
Assist in ensuring that Mayer Brown’s employees appreciate the benefits of security to the organization, themselves and their working environment
Q/A new builds periodically to verify all security standards are being applied
Keep IT Security site on intranet updated with current material
Perform digital forensics on technology as requested by Human Resources, Information Technology or General Counsel
Bachelor's degree preferred
5+ years of experience in an Information Security department required
Excellent working knowledge of CISSP, CEH required
Excellent knowledge of the ISO 27002 standard preferred
Excellent working knowledge of networking and security standards required
Excellent documentation and authentication methods experience required
Excellent knowledge of a Microsoft Exchange email environment and disaster recovery preferred
Must work well with others and contribute to the success of the team, communicating openly with teammates. Willingly asks questions where appropriate and guides others whenever possible
Ability to travel 25% domestically / internationally
High degree of initiative required
Must be customer-service focused
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
Must possess a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality
Demonstrated self-starter with the desire to show ownership and commitment
Ability to lift 25lbs.
