Business Development, Professional Legal Management
Under the leadership and general direction of the Chief Professional Development Officer, and in collaboration with the Chief Strategy Officer and members of the Business Development (BD) Department and the Professional Development & Training (PD&T) Department, the Client Educational Programs Manager will serve as point person for educational and training client programs. This role will work closely with members of the firm’s operational teams, including Events, Conference Services and Information Systems, as well as the firm’s attorneys and clients.
In coordination with the BD and PD&T departments, work closely with firm attorneys to identify client training content priorities that support and advance firm business and client development strategies, including development of an annual schedule of client webcasts.
In coordination with the Diversity & Inclusion and Women’s Initiative teams, ensure that the firm’s educational and training client programs are aligned with the firm’s diversity and inclusion goals.
Manage processes for tracking client educational and training programs, including relevant data and content.
Serve as point person for the execution of educational and training client programs, including both (a) in-person events, and (b) live and on demand online programs.
Facilitate various Operations Team departments in the planning and execution of all aspects of on-site and off-site educational and training client programs. Oversight of physical event logistics, including audio-visual needs, room set-ups, catering, and production and distribution of event materials and other collateral. Oversee teams to ensure that best practices are applied to all educational and training client programs.
In coordination with the BD, IS and multimedia teams, serve as point person for the continued development of the firm’s technology platforms for live and on demand client programs.
In coordination with the marketing and graphics teams, ensure consistent branding for all programs.
Bachelor’s degree; J.D. or other advanced degree preferred but not a prerequisite.
Four to six years of experience in a successful business development or professional development role and in a law firm or other legal professional setting is required.
Knowledge of webcasting platforms required.
Excellent communication ability, including writing, editing and presentation skills.
Understanding of the pressures of working in a corporate environment and demonstrated potential for working well with attorneys who have a wide range of business development goals and marketing skills.
Ability to work in an environment with shifting priorities to meet time-sensitive deadlines, as well as manage multiple projects simultaneously, including confidential matters.
