Under direct supervision of the Application Development Manager, the Jr. Support Administrator will serve as first point of contact for Tier 1 SharePoint support and will be responsible for the design, development, permission and site administration to deliver document collaboration and management functionality built on Microsoft SharePoint 2016.
Collaborates in a team-based environment to develop and implement SharePoint sites based on user needs.
Assists in providing streamlined and enhanced program functionality.
Assists in development and implementation of site layouts, site templates, user navigation strategies, and information/data management strategies.
Assists in the enhancement of SharePoint using out-of-the-box features: SharePoint Designer, Visual Studio, and/or third-party technologies.
Assists in requirements analysis and develop solutions for all tiers of the application: user interface, middle-tier business components, database layer, etc.
Assists in the creation of documentation, and assists in the technical planning aspects of future enhancements.
Administer, monitor, and manage SharePoint sites
Maintains changes to web and SharePoint sites.
Act as a Level 1/2 support tier for service desk problem resolution.
Keeps abreast of new technology developments and make recommendations regarding changes to current standards and solutions as appropriate.
Works closely with other members of the Application Development team in support of the success of the team’s duties and responsibilities.
Researches, analyzes, recommends and selects technical approaches for solving difficult and challenging development and integration problems.
Assists in the management/user account information, including rights, security and systems groups.
Troubleshoots to resolves technical problems, installing or updating required hardware and software
Assures continuity of the SharePoint sites for all system users.
Stays abreast of the latest developments in SharePoint technology.
Provides technical assistance and advice to users as needed.
Assists in implementing practices that will more effectively utilize MIS resources.
Fundamental understanding of the AGILE Methodology and SCRUM Framework
Bachelor's of Science degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field. Experience may substitute for degree on a year for year basis.
1-3 years’ desirable experience working with Microsoft SharePoint platform, trouble-shooting and setting up SharePoint sites.
Ability to approach projects with significant ingenuity and flexibility.
Strong organizational and problem solving abilities.
Effective communication and customer service skills.
Understanding of basic website structure and navigation best practices.
Strong customer service skills in responding and supporting program staff.
Ability to effectively communicate technical subject matter to non-technical staff.
Ability to design and conduct targeted/general SharePoint training sessions.
Understanding of program business needs and ability to utilize Share Point tools to provide solutions to these needs.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize several projects across programs.
Attention to detail in reviewing content quality and testing site functionality.
Process-oriented, experience in building systems or operations standards desirable.
Strong organization and project management skills including developing of project plans and timelines.
Ability to work independently with minimal managerial oversight.
