Morris, Nichols, Arsht & Tunnell LLP’s Financial Systems and SharePoint Developer is responsible for applications development, systems integration and support for the Firm’s 3E financial system and applications developed in Microsoft SharePoint. Reporting to the IT Manager, this person will partner with the Finance department to provide technical for support the 3E system, make customizations, perform integrations, and develop needed reports. This person will also provide technical support and development for SharePoint applications including the firm’s intranet, custom workflows, and custom databases. As required, this person will manage the projects related to these responsibilities and manage any outside consultants needed for these activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Take direction from the IT Manager but also have a dotted line responsibility to the Finance Director for specific tasks related to the support for 3E and other financial systems.
Provide technical support for the Firm’s 3E environment including, application administration, database administration and troubleshooting of problems.
Develop 3E customizations and customized reports to support the Firm’s financial systems requirements. Track all customizations to ensure nothing “breaks” during upgrades.
Provide technical support for the customized budgeting system and support for and implementation of other off-the-shelf finance applications.
Supply technical expertise in managing the Firm’s SharePoint environment.
Provide technical support and development for the Firm’s Intranet.
Assist lawyers and other departments in managing SharePoint content, developing workflows, and utilizing the other capabilities of SharePoint.
Project manage the development, upgrades, and applications changes for the systems supported. Manage consultants in these activities as required.
Design and perform the technical work to integrate the 3E system with other Firm applications as required.
This person must have a minimum of 7 years’ work experience in applications development, database support, and systems integration. At least 3 years’ experience working on financial systems with a background in 3E. Strong familiarity and experience working in Microsoft SharePoint and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) is desired. Prior experience working in a law firm or other professional services firm is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Strong knowledge of the 3E system including experience with customization, the system’s data structures, and associated finance concepts.
Strong familiarity with SharePoint including, managing a SharePoint installation, creating and modifying web pages, content management, reporting via SharePoint, and building customized workflows.
Experience programing in Visual Basic and C++, web design, and developing and managing SQL databases and creating queries.
Experience in designing custom reports using SSRS.
Experience with applications/data integration. Proven ability to plan, coordinate and execute data exchanges between 3E and other key applications.
Background in triage of system problems and implementing fixes and/or workarounds.
Familiarity and experience with project management concepts. Ability to manage consultants on short term projects.
Proficient in business analysis and application design methods. Ability to speak with business people and map their requirements into technical solutions.
Strong customer service focus and ability to communicate technical issues in a not-technical way.
Demonstrated ability to work as a team player and ability to collaborate on projects.
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
