Wilkinson Barker Knauer, LLP, a 70-attorney law firm with offices in Washington, DC and Denver, Colorado, is seeking a Network / Systems Manager. The Network / Systems Manager is an exempt administrative position under the supervision of the Executive Director and the general guidance of the IT Partner. The Network / Systems Manager is responsible for ensuring maximum uptime and optimal performance of computer, phone, and related information technology systems, providing hardware and software maintenance and quality and timely technology support to the firm, and ensuring that the firm’s systems (current and future) are capable of supporting the strategic business goals established by the partnership.
The Network / Systems Manager assists internal/external customers with incident and problem resolution, helps and advises on the IT security of the Firm, takes on IT tasks as needed or assigned, and is a member of the Firm’s IT Committee. The Network / Systems Manager functions as a subject matter expert for a variety of systems used by the Firm. He or she will also coordinate software initiatives and activities with the Firm’s Software Support Services Manager.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures all phases of systems administration are properly coordinated, monitored, documented, tracked and maintained overall at an optimal functional/performance level.
Provides hands-on support for any system issues/problems by working with other firm administrative members, consultants, vendors, and others deemed necessary to address an incident or problem.
Works with and manages vendors, service providers, and consultants to help maintain systems and services; resolves support incidents; and completes projects.
Adheres to all IT policies, procedures, standards and guidelines.
Utilizes an incident tracking system to document all requests and issues reported by employees.
Helps develop and advises the Firm on IT procedures, policies, and best practices.
Helps develop and advise the Firm on industry changes and latest technologies and security protocols, as well as the appropriate evolution of the Firm’s network.
Responsible for preparation of the yearly IT budget.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director, IT Partner and Firm Management.
Minimum of 7+ years of experience managing and providing IT infrastructure services and support to a multi-office/location organization. Project management experience in IT Infrastructure is required. Experience providing IT services in a law firm is preferred.
Bachelors’ Degree or a combination of education, certifications and demonstrable experience with various sized IT projects and methodologies or a commensurate track record of support roles that would indicate a full understanding of IT infrastructure in a complex network environment.
