Chapman and Cutler LLP is seeking an Innovations Systems Specialist to join our Practice Innovations team in the Firm’s Chicago office. The Practice Innovations team focuses on delivering innovative technology and practice management solutions to the Firm and its clients.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, with a collaborative mindset. In addition, successful candidates must have a combination of 2-4 years technological experience/education, with experience working in a law firm, professional services organization, or start-up, preferred.
The Innovations Systems Specialist will work with practice group and department personnel to assist in the ongoing management of digital information, knowledge materials and collaboration systems. This includes: user management, access and permission configuration, and general oversight of content across groups and departments on digital platforms such as the Firm Extranet, Intranet and web applications.
The Innovations Systems Specialist will also provide a high-level of customer service support to users of systems maintained the Practice Innovations Department including: partners, associates, clients and staff. Enthusiasm, attention to detail and responsiveness are keys to success in this role. This position is not limited to these responsibilities and may be revised as needed – there is room for additional opportunities and professional growth. This position will report to the Director of Practice Innovations.
Assist in preparing content for publication on digital platforms, including web pages, tables of information (lists, digital/web information tables, spreadsheets), and resource libraries.
Provide training to attorneys and staff on using the Firm's Extranet and digital content tools.
Contribute to the migration / conversion of content from individuals, hosted web applications, and internally developed applications.
Quickly and efficiently resolve incoming telephone and e-mail requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with content platforms, escalate as necessary, and follow-through to completion.
Gather system metrics and assist in the preparation of spreadsheets, reports and analytics.
Provide assistance and support in drafting and updating documentation and instructional materials.
Regularly communicate with Practice Innovations team to ensure support expectations are met.
Assist with user account maintenance tasks.
Special projects as required by the Practice Innovations team.
General system administrative tasks assigned on an as needed basis.
Experience and a strong working knowledge of MS Office or similar office software suite is required.
Prior experience with content management systems is required, preferably Drupal, Wordpress, and/or HighQ Collaborate.
Familiarity with HTML.
Experience working with spreadsheet and database software and/or business systems is desired.
Understanding of concepts governing content management and publication.
Sharp analytical skills and close attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with keen problem-solving skills.
Pride of ownership with customer service. Must have the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users, and the ability to work and communicate with users of all levels from partners to secretaries, as well as clients, with a high level of professionalism.
A motivated self-starter who is able to work independently as well as part of a client-service oriented team, and manage one's own time.
Patient and positive attitude when helping users learn and adopt Practice Innovations Department tools.
Experience in managing multiple projects often containing ambiguity.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
Candidates must have a university degree or four years working experience in a technical field.
