These are some of the qualities that Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP, a regional 200-attorney firm, is looking for in an IT Trainer in its Charlotte, NC office.
Working under the direction of the IT Training Manager, the IT Trainer provides individual coaching, classroom training, and distance-learning software education for all attorneys and staff. Seek to create learning opportunities within all firm departments, including those not typically included in IT Training. Wear a variety of hats to include business analyst, customer service guide, workflow consultant, and knowledge management specialist. This is a non-exempt position with no direct reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct new hire training on firm-standard software programs. Make a lasting first-impression on all newly hired personnel in your role as new hire ambassador.
Coordinate Webinars. Support Business Development department and attorneys in the creation and production of web-based meetings and seminars.
Maintain a regular schedule of workshops, training classes, and coaching sessions to be maintained in the Learning Management System (LMS).
Assist IT Training Manager on review, design, and development of training methods and materials for software upgrades, rollouts, and individual requests for development of non-standard training courses.
Continually learn and become proficient in new software as the firm’s technology needs evolve.
Assist Applications Team in testing upgrades and integrating new applications.
Provide secondary application support as needed to end users and internal departments, including Help Desk and Word Processing.
Travel to other offices to provide coaching/training.
Previous law firm technology training experience.
Minimum three years of classroom training experience for all levels of management and staff.
Experience with Learning Management Systems.
Project management experience.
Law firm financial systems end user training, specifically Elite and 3E.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
Ability to concentrate on tasks, make decisions, prioritize tasks, and work calmly and effectively in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented environment.
Advanced Skills in:
Microsoft Windows versions 7 and 10.
Microsoft Office Suite versions 2010 and 2016.
Document Management Systems (e.g. iManage, NetDocuments).
Ability to confidently deliver high quality classroom and one-on-one training and coaching sessions.
Ability to use sound judgment and discretion in dealing with highly confidential information.
Willingness to be flexible with time and adjust to an ever-changing work environment.
Must be able to travel approximately 20% of the time to firm offices in the Carolinas and Georgia.
