Manhattan-based immigration firm seeks fulltime Associate Attorney. Practice is approximately 35% entertainment-related matters (O, P, and EB-1), 25% family-related, 10% waivers and asylum, 10% litigation (including federal court), 10% naturalization, and 10% business immigration. Firm seeks to grow entertainment and business practice while maintaining other practice areas at current levels.
Candidate must have verifiable experience practicing immigration law. Resumes not reflecting such experience will be discarded. Candidate must be a self-motivated, trustworthy individual with excellent time management skills and ability to manage a diverse, busy caseload. Position also entails some day to day management of office location. Position entails frequent client interaction with a broad array of people including public figures. Therefore it is imperative that candidate possess strong communications skills and be a "people person" able to deal with all personality types while maintaining a friendly, calm demeanor. Position also entails negotiating terms of client retainers and candidate must be comfortable with this aspect of job. Excellent writing skills are a must, as job duties include regularly writing support letters, detailed attorney cover letters, motions and briefs. Foreign language abilities not required, but Spanish fluency a plus. Candidates with experience in New York City area immigration system preferred. Additional Salary Information: Salary based on experience. Performance bonus and medical insurance after six month probationary period. Performance-based raise after one year.
