We are currently seeking an experienced Financial Data Analyst located in our corporate office in Pittsburgh, PA.
Overview of Position:
The Financial Data Analyst is responsible for administering the business intelligence applications of the Firm. Create, analyze and distribute financial analyses in relation to Firm initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Administer the Firm’s business intelligence applications. Update and maintain the data integrity of the modules within the application.
Gather, organize, and verify data (via Redwood, SQL, Excel, or Access) essential for special projects, and business evaluations.
Mine data from multiple sources to look for trends to identify opportunities for financial growth.
Complete financial analyses, as required, to understand economic and market conditions and the impact on business performance.
Develop and distribute profitability analyses to aid in the business decisions for a section, office, individual, and/or client.
Support system upgrades and conversions with assistance for data mapping, data validation and testing of changes.
Respond to all inquiries, both internal and external, on a timely and professional basis.
Prepare, investigate and respond to various surveys such as, governmental, operational and diversity.
Ad hoc special requests/projects, as needed.
Education/Training Requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates):
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
MBA or advanced degree preferred.
At least five (5) years of related finance and/or accounting experience.
Strong database administration experience.
Proficiency using Cognos or other similar multi-dimensional applications (Redwood Analytics or Wilson Technologies, preferred).
Experience building complete financial models and analyses from multiple data sources.
Capabilities with SQL, and relational database and/or warehouse.
Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to define problems and find a solution.
Demonstrated analytical and mathematical skills.
Ability to interpret mathematical calculations.
Robust skills with Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Excellent communications skills both written and verbal.
Demonstrated organizational skills.
Ability to work independently.
