We have an opening for a Safety and Emergency Management Specialist in our Facilities Department. This position is responsible for the oversight of the Firm’s safety and security programs that support a safe and secure working environment for all employees, partners and visitors of the Firm and is responsible for the coordination and maintenance of the Firm’s emergency response and disaster recovery programs. The Safety and Emergency Management Specialist ensures the Firm operates in compliance with all government imposed regulations and recommends best practices for all safety, security and emergency procedures and policies based on industry standards. This individual will need to possess a strong understanding of Firmwide goals and will need to effectively communicate and collaborate with other departments and other offices to ensure that goals are met and best practices are implemented. Moreover, the Safety and Emergency Management Specialist will need to be available on call, as needed, in case of injuries, emergencies or disasters.
Responsible for leading the Silicon Valley emergency response, safety and disaster recovery teams. Provide training to teams as needed, lead evacuation drills and implements safety procedures. Coordinates CPR, AED and first aid training for the Firm’s emergency response and facilities teams.
Conducts regularly-scheduled walk-throughs of our space to inspect the facility for safety or injury hazards and ensure compliance with fire codes.
Identifies and evaluates any hazardous conditions or practices; assists with development of and communication regarding hazard control programs.
In connection with the Director of Facilities, the Human Resources Department and our workers’ compensation insurance broker, oversees the Firm’s ergonomic program.
Maintains and reviews Firm’s incident statistics and makes applicable recommendations to the Director of Facilities for the correction of any problem areas.
Partners with the Information Technology Department and the Director of Facilities to research, propose, implement, maintain and effectuate a Firmwide Emergency Response plan that ensures communication, accountability, tracking, responsiveness and safety of all personnel.
Coordinates with building management regarding the oversight of the Firm’s security systems, to include key fob access, surveillance cameras, parking garage gate access, fire extinguisher inventory and maintenance, alarm systems and the security guard desk.

Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, Send Word Now, Preparis and other technology applications as may be required;
Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills;
High level of attention to detail;
Ability to work within tight deadlines and/or in challenging situations;
Willingness and ability to travel to other offices, if needed or required.
Reporting to the Director of Facilities, the ideal candidate will have knowledge of OSHA requirements and HIPPA rules, ergonomic training or certification experience, CPR, AED and First Aid training or certification. Experience with development and oversight of emergency response and disaster recovery programs and previous law firm or corporate setting experience is preferred.
