Ballard Spahr LLP is seeking an experienced, service-oriented individual to join our Research and Information Center to work as part of a larger team serving lawyers and administrative staff in offices located throughout the U.S. Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Research Systems, the Business & Competitive Intelligence Analyst will work as part of a team to provide in-depth research and high-level analysis of companies, industries, technologies, markets, and competitors using a comprehensive variety of tools and resources. The team is responsible for researching and monitoring a wide variety of resources for the purpose of identifying potential business opportunities with clients and prospective clients. The selected individual will research, analyze, evaluate and synthesize information from a variety of sources and prepare executive summaries, analytical reports and other correspondence necessary to communicate results. The individual will also present results with expert analysis, using visual presentation (graphs, charts) or other technology (spreadsheets, databases) as needed. Experience in advanced analytics such as dashboards, visualizations, predictive analysis and data mining a plus. The ideal candidate will have a Master’s in Library Science from an ALA accredited school or equivalent degree and experience; three plus years providing competitor, market and industry research in a corporate or law firm environment, with law firm experience strongly preferred; and advanced Microsoft Office skills required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are also a must. |
