Under the direction of the Sr. Information Governance Manager, the Temporary Information Governance Specialist will participate in strategic projects and initiatives regarding electronic data; production of innovative educational content on information governance; and large-scale electronic data management. The ideal candidate is able to create project plans, meet project milestones, track and provide statistics and metrics, and reduce risks and/or costs in alignment with Firm expectations. This position can be based in our San Jose or Mountain View office, with travel to either office depending on business needs.
Responsibilities include: performing searches for and reviews of client data throughout network, in locations such as current and former timekeeper Outlook accounts, shared drives, et al., harvesting information accurately and thoroughly from complex sets of criteria; applying critical thinking when reviewing data, ensuring relationships between data are discovered and incorporated in results; utilizing widely varied applications to search, extract, and/or copy data effectively; maintaining open, continuous communication with personnel involved, fostering positive interactions that increase teamwork and cohesiveness towards a best practices culture; serving as primary point of contact to and develops a good working rapport with Risk and Records Department, timekeepers and others needing assistance with electronic data; assisting Risk and Records in responding to requests and other internal and external requests for information, such client transfers, litigation holds and protective orders; working collaboratively and maintains excellent working rapport with IT personnel to meet project deadlines and deliver results.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and/or relevant experience, 2-5 years of experience working within a data analyzing role and law firm experience a plus. This individual will have familiarity with legal records classification and organization, transfers, client service, and information governance. The successful candidate is able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and is able to manage and prioritize multiple duties and assignments.
