The Kresge Law Library at the Notre Dame Law School is establishing a new position toplay a critical role in the development, implementation, and evolution of strategies and workflows relating to the acquisitions and management of electronic resources and provide instruction to students.
Coordinate the workflow and lifecycle of library digital resources.
Monitor usage statistics for vendors and databases in order to assist with Collection Development.
Train students and faculty/staff on digital resources.
Investigate emerging technologies to improve access and delivery of digital resources and services.
Coordinate access-related problem resolution, responding to user and staff reports, and working with library and vendor staff to resolve the issues identified.
Teach one section of the first-year introductory legal research course or an advanced legal research course based on the successful candidate’s expertise and interests.
Other duties as assigned.

JD from an ABA-accredited institution (or equivalent degree) and an MLIS from an ALA-accredited institution (or equivalent degree).
Knowledge of legal materials, research methodology, and current trends in the legal profession and law libraries.
Experience with electronic resources management systems.
Understanding of electronic resource lifecycle activities and the electronic resource environment in an academic library setting.
Strong service orientation and awareness of end-user needs as related to cataloging policies and procedures.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Enthusiasm, creativity, and eagerness to propose new projects and workflows.
Previous experience in an academic library setting, preferably an academic law library.
Experience with metadata issues related to the discovery of resources with next-generation discovery platforms and other web-based search engines.
Additional Salary Information: The salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. The Kresge Law Library at Notre Dame Law School has a talented staff, quality collection, and splendid physical facility which combine to make the law library one of the law school’s finest assets. The beautiful reading room with its Gothic-themed architecture is filled with natural light and features attractive study spaces. Located on four floors in the superbly-renovated Biolchini Hall of Law, the law library includes seating for 550 – with 150 individual study carrels. There are 26 study rooms for collaborative study. We hope that seated in these comfortable surroundings, assisted by knowledgeable staff, students will be inspired to do their best while preparing for class or conducting extensive research.
