Proskauer is seeking a Legal Project Manager, based in the New York office, with a strong interest in the intersection of law and technology. The manager will support attorneys in all offices of the Firm in managing our business and clients. The focus of this position will be on supporting the development and dissemination of meaningful tools that facilitate the Legal Project Management team’s objectives, including budgets, timelines, reports and matter plans. This role reports to the Director of Legal Project Management.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Ensures that internal clients, including attorneys, are receiving timely, accurate and professionally polished budgets and progress reports.
Assists in the preparation of client facing reports, marketing materials and presentation materials.
Identifies issues or opportunities and proactively raises them with the appropriate member of the team; tracks issues through resolution and documents lessons learned.
Partners with Pricing, Financial Planning & Analysis, Client Operations and other staff support groups to provide project support and contribute to process improvement.
Manipulates and analyzes data using advanced Excel skills or other data analysis and reporting tools to present information.
Performs research to evaluate and compare matter information and data.
Learns about Firm’s systems and data; applies understanding of financial concepts, problem solving skills and a strong client service orientation to navigate and apply systems and data in ways that benefit the Legal Project Management department and lawyers.
Assists with department projects as needed and performs other work-related duties as assigned by the Director of Legal Project Management.
Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred, with law firm experience a plus.
3-5 years of total experience, with 1-3 years of legal project management experience.
The position will involve significant contact with partners and associates at the Firm and require very good interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
The candidate must be a self-starter, highly organized and a team player.
