The Communications System Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, operations, maintenance, and improvement of all communications systems; including email, Cisco Voice/Telephony, Messaging, Mobile Device Management and related systems. The individual is also responsible for the enablement of secure and non-secure voice, video and messaging communications. This includes MS Active Directory, Exchange Online, Exchange 2013, email archiving (Symantec Vault), email spam (Symantec Messagelabs and Proofpoint), Cisco Unity, Active Sync and Enterprise MDM. This position also participates with all IT-related projects and is expected to provide cost effective solutions to meet the Firm's needs.
Subject Matter Expertise for Cisco Unified Communications products, Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange on prem and online, Enterprise Vault, Proofpoint, Skype, Airwatch, PowerShell, DNS, and Active Directory
Expertise in supporting current and recent Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and VMware Infrastructure
Integration, configuration, administration and troubleshooting of F5 BigIP GTM/LTM/APM load balancing technologies
Develop and document our enterprise communications systems
System upgrades and regular maintenance
Monitors all communication systems and applications in the production environment to ensure optimum system performance and availability
Designs, develops and delivers training for support and service desk staff to ensure proper maintenance of the enterprise communications systems
Serves as a point of contact and liaison with system and network vendors; reviews vendor products, and coordinates and facilitates vendor interviews and presentations
Installs, configures and maintains unified communications system and application software, and on-call support as required
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
Knowledge of current technological developments/trends
VoIP technologies including but not limited to Cisco CallManager, Unity, Telepresence, SIP trunking, carrier integrations, session border controllers and dial plans
Security principles, related applications, procedures and techniques
Knowledge of voice and data network cabling standards
Architectural analysis, design and integration of MS Active Directory, Exchange Online, Exchange 2013, Office 365, Skype, and Cisco Unified Communications
MS Active Directory including cross-forest/domain trust relationships, recovery services, federation services, etc.
MS server clustering
F5 BigIP GTM/LTM/APM load balancing strategies; including integration, configuration, administration and troubleshooting
This position reports to the Chief Information Officer and can be based from our Mountain View, San Jose, Foster City or San Francisco office (with travel to local offices as needed). The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in the design, administration, and optimization of messaging related systems and services such as Exchange, Active Directory, and Networking. The individual will be comfortable working in a Microsoft centric, team-oriented and collaborative environment. Bachelor's degree and law firm experience preferred.
