GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Director of Attorney Development, and following prescribed department, office and firm procedures, the Attorney Development Assistant is responsible for providing day-to-day administrative support and assistance to the attorney development team. The Attorney Development Assistant is expected to perform all responsibilities with a commitment to providing superior service to the firm’s attorneys, advisors and staff, and to maintaining an atmosphere of teamwork and continuous improvement. Above all, the Attorney Development Assistant must fulfill the needs of the firm in a manner which is consistent with the Firm’s Core Values.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(Duties are performed throughout every work day, as necessary):
Make edits and updates to the Attorney Development portal pages as directed.
Submit departmental invoices and expense reimbursement requests through Chrome River.
Assist with distribution of monthly reports including but not limited to local office budgets and productivity reports.
Assist with preparations for firmwide attorney development programs including the academies and other training programs organized by the department. Responsibilities include conference room reservations, preparation of materials, coordination with the IT team and assistance with travel and restaurant reservations.
Learn and become a resource for the attorney development databases in viDesktop including Utilize, Work Allocation, Performance Management and CLE/Training.
Provide administrative support for the non-partner attorney evaluation process including entry of late evaluations, reports and tracking.
Provide administrative support for the CLE process including assistance with scheduling and entering programs into viDesktop and keeping the on-demand program library up to date.
Schedule team meetings, conference calls and other appointments as requested.
Process check requests and expense reports for department members.
On-site support for training programs and academies as needed.
Participate in Attorney Recruiting & Development calls as scheduled.
Additional tasks and projects as needed.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
Ability to read, write and speak English
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Familiarity with database applications
Strong attention to detail
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to read, comprehend and follow instructions
Ability to communicate with attorneys and staff in an effective manner
Ability to manage multiple priorities and adjust to changing priorities in a professional manner
Willingness and ability to assume new tasks and responsibilities
Strong service orientation and an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, office and firm management, vendors, and law school personnel
Ability to work well under pressure, facilitate solutions, and meet deadlines and milestones for projects assigned
