Harter Secrest & Emery LLP is seeking an experienced Real Estate Paralegal to join the Real Estate Practice Group in our Rochester, NY office. The successful candidate will be responsible supporting clients and attorneys in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including title searches, initial drafting of documents and closings.
Job Responsibilities: • Examine title abstracts • Draft various legal documents for attorney review • Conduct title searches; review and analyze title reports • Investigate and research land records; collect and review source documents and materials • Function as a liaison between clients and attorneys • Assist in commercial closings
Education and Experience Requirements: • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of experience and education sufficient to indicate ability to be successful in the position; ABA approved paralegal certification an asset • 5-7 years paralegal experience; thorough knowledge of real estate process • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Good organizational skills; ability to effectively plan work assignments to meet client needs • Strong attention to detail and skill in proofreading complex documents • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks • Ability to work independently, yet be an active contributor in a focused work team • Knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet search applications
