Wilkinson Barker Knauer, LLP, a law firm with offices in Washington, D.C. and Denver, Colorado, is seeking a Network Applications Specialist. The Network Applications Specialist is a non-exempt administrative position under the supervision of the Network Systems Manager and the general guidance of the IT Partner. The Network Applications Specialist will work with the Network Systems Manager to support the strategic business goals established by the partnership. The Network Applications Specialist is a member of the Firm’s IT Committee.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Interface daily with end-users, both local and remote, to provide helpdesk support in a professional, courteous, and accommodating manner.
Responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving end-user hardware and software issues.
Ability to resolve issues using effective problem-solving skills.
Experience using IQTrack (or a similar database) to track issues and resolutions.
Provide expertise and technical knowledge about software applications.
Research, develop, plan, organize, evaluate, and deliver IT training materials for end?users, including user guides and how-to’s for software/training programs.
Train end-users on software and support them to ensure their competency.
Prepare and distribute training and onboarding aids such as instructional material, handouts, evaluation forms, and visual aids; set up audiovisual equipment and make presentations when necessary.
Ability to prioritize competing demands.
Manage network and document management permissions as they relate to user access, including updates to email distribution lists and account changes and deletions, to ensure network integrity and security.
Notify end users regarding system problems, including scheduled maintenance and unscheduled downtime.
Work with the Network Systems Manager to maintain knowledge of all Firm operating systems and applications in order to assist in the planning, testing, and implementation of Firm software systems.
Proactively research, evaluate, and, if appropriate, suggest software projects that will improve Firm performance within budget limitations.
Participate in staff meetings to gather feedback on applications to determine how IT can best meet end user needs.
Maintain and update the Firm’s Intranet.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Network Systems Manager.
Minimum two years of experience providing support to end users in a professional environment.
Bachelors’ degree or a commensurate combination of education, certifications, and demonstrable IT experience and methodologies or a commensurate track record of support roles that would indicate a full understanding of assisting end users and managing a software application infrastructure.
Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
Working knowledge and experience with the following (or similar) platforms:
Document Management System (NetDocuments)
Microsoft Office Suite (2010/2016)
Office 365 Exchange Online
Strong understanding of information security practices and industry standards.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to work in a team environment, as well as being proactive and self-directed.
Must effectively prioritize work/projects and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
