Offit Kurman, a growing, mid-Atlantic based law firm, seeks a Director of Information Technology to be responsible for the management, strategy and execution of IT infrastructure for the Firm. Ideally based from either our Philadelphia or Baltimore office, this individual will work with senior management on long-term strategy and vision as well as short-term planning to ensure that all systems, procedures, and policies are aligned with the Firm’s strategic plan and adhere to organizational standards. The Director of IT will provide hands-on leadership for the IT team to achieve department and Firm goals, meet project deadlines and budgets, identify and eliminate security risks and increase attorney, staff, and client satisfaction.
Oversee the IT department including infrastructure, application, and support as well as direct management of the Information Technology Manager and Help Desk Manager.
Work with the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to set IT strategy and vision in alignment with the Firm’s strategic plan and objectives.
Define and oversee enforcement of IT policies and procedures for the IT team and Firm-wide staff.
Develop the IT departmental budget with the CAO and manage IT operations within budget.
Communicate IT policies, issues, and changes to management and staff.
Liaise with other administrative department heads and attorney leaders to identify and resolve issues, address opportunities for improvement to technology or process, and ensure overall efficient delivery of IT services and support.
Remain current on new technologies, security threats, and compliance requirements and report to senior management.
Develop and manage project plans and budgets for IT projects and create and deliver project proposals for approval by senior management when required.
Work with the CAO to develop and implement the Firm’s information security and data governance
Oversee IT roles and tasks in Firm projects including new office openings/expansions, group affiliations/roll-up, and others to ensure on-time and on-budget project completion.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple workflows and quickly shift focus in a highly dynamic environment.

Solid working knowledge of current security protocols and threats.

Ability to manage technical personnel and projects.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or similar field or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 8 years’ experience working in the technology field.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in IT management or leadership.
Experience with computer systems design and administration.
Weekly travel, primarily day trips to the Firm’s offices in the mid-Atlantic region.
40+ hour work week with afterhours and weekend work as necessary.
