K&L Gates seeks an experienced recruiting professional to serve in a Firmwide role as Senior Manager of Lateral Recruiting. Working in close collaboration with the Director of Legal Recruiting, local office recruiting professionals, Managing Partners, and others in Firm Management, this position will be responsible for developing and overseeing lateral partner and lateral associate recruiting initiatives across the firm. Using outstanding interpersonal skills, along with excellent communication skills, organizational abilities, and sound judgment, this Manager will be engaged in the development of and enhancements to the candidate intake and recruitment process, strategic approach to the market, internal reporting, and analysis of trends. We are looking for someone with demonstrated capabilities in the lateral recruiting space and looking to expand their experience and apply creative ideas at a dynamic, globally integrated law firm. The location of this position is flexible within our U.S. offices.
Key areas of responsibilities include:
Develop and execute innovative strategies to further enhance the acquisition of lateral talent, both associates and partners, with a focus on sourcing tactics, technology use, diversifying the candidate pool, and improving the candidate experience.
Oversee and support the process of partner candidate interview scheduling and feedback collection.
Serve as point of contact and work closely with local office recruiters and partners to ensure due diligence and other hiring protocol items for partner candidates are completed efficiently and correctly.
Act as internal point of contact for lateral associate hiring requests; assess requests against current performance metrics and firm needs.
Collaborate with marketing and business development to develop collateral and communications related to lateral lawyer hiring for both internal firm personnel and candidates.
Collect market intelligence, conduct research and report relevant findings on market trends, recruiting opportunities, and Firm recruiting performance as it relates to lateral partner and associate hiring.
Oversee the on-boarding of new lateral partners, working closely with practice group leaders, partner integration team, marketing/business development, finance and other key functions of the firm.
Maintain relationships with recruitment agencies and other members of the legal industry.
Provide direction and guidance, demonstrate leadership, and act as an advisor and mentor to the legal recruiting team members across offices.
Bachelor's degree required; 7+ years recruiting experience in a large law firm, preferably with multi-office experience and in support of senior level associate and/or partner level lateral hiring
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to relate to and gain the confidence of professionals at all levels, as well as the ability to build strong relationships and work in a collaborative environment; management experience strongly preferred
Demonstrable analytical skills and general business acumen; strategic mindset and hands-on approach;
A commitment to confidentiality and strong professional and ethical standards;
Highly motivated, creative problem solver, flexible, results-oriented and possess the ability to work independently under pressure with demanding deadlines;
Ability to persuade and influence professionals to try new approaches and drive progress.
