GENERAL SUMMARY: Under general supervision of the Director of IT Operations, and following prescribed department, office and firm procedures, the Desktop and Mobility Engineering Manager will supervise a team of four engineers to help maintain the organization's repository of desktop software applications, Citrix virtual desktops, and the operating system image through best practices and the appropriate staffing and management of a technical team. The Desktop and Mobility Engineering Manager is also responsible for planning and coordinating the processes required for the provisioning of user applications and systems necessary for business operations. This individual will apply proven communication and problem-solving skills to guide and assist in the packaging, testing and deployment of applications. The Desktop and Mobility Engineering Manager will have a strong knowledge of the Windows desktop operating system and the use of SCCM to include general administration. The Desktop Engineer is expected to perform all responsibilities with a commitment to providing superior service to the firm's clients, attorneys, advisors and staff, and maintaining an atmosphere of teamwork and continuous improvement. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(Duties are performed throughout every work day, as necessary):
Oversee the day-to-day Tier 3 operational support for end user physical and virtual computing systems.
Provide oversight for the development of a secure desktop operating system image.
Manage patching and software release distributions to Windows desktop systems using SCCM Current Branch.
Manage the overall operation of the firm's mobile device management system.
Work independently under minimal supervision.
Ensure that applications meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues.
Review and analyze existing applications effectiveness, performance, and efficiency, and then develop strategies for improving or leveraging these systems.
Evaluate, install, configure, and deploy new applications, systems software, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the enterprise.
Manage and provide direction for the Desktop and Mobility Engineering (DME) team in support of business operations.
Evaluate new technology based on departmental or business needs.
Ensure that security controls and compliance policies are properly implemented on systems managed by the DME team.
Ensure workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to conduct research into application and hardware issues
Ability to read, write and speak English
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Proficient in scripting and automation; VB Script or PowerShell
Ability to pay close attention to detail, occasionally for prolonged periods of time and under restrictive deadlines, and complete work assignments logically and accurately
Knowledge of Microsoft 365, commercial desktop tools, and networks to manage a distributed team of desktop engineers
Experience with SCCM (CB) as well other system management solutions is required
Experience with endpoint backup solutions
Experience with virtual technologies; Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop
Experience with Windows 10 servicing strategy
Experience developing, deploying and supporting Windows Operating Systems (workstations and servers)
Excellent written and oral communication skills

Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language

EDUCATIONAL/JOB EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree with coursework in computer science, management information systems preferred
Mid-Level Microsoft certification (i.e. MCITP, MCSA, or MCSE) preferred
An equivalent combination of experience and training
