Robinson & Cole LLP, an Am Law 200 firm, seeks an Immigration Writer for its Hartford office. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated interest in persuasive writing, the ability to analyze and synthesize information, and the ability to conduct factual research to support their writing. The position will work under the direct supervision of an Attorney with a focus specifically on complex business immigration cases. Experience working in a law firm or with attorneys on legal matters preferred, but not required. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Research, analyze and write complex business immigration cases
- Translate complex terminology into accessible, compelling, and relevant content for "outstanding researcher" and other petitions to the USCIS
- Work independently and manage multiple writing projects simultaneously
- Possess ability to learn immigration law
- Apply excellent proofreading and editing skills to case-writing content and other materials
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor’s Degree required. (English, Writing, Journalism, Literature, or Language Majors preferred)
- Experience writing factual, persuasive pieces preferred.
- Experience analyzing factual data and reducing it to writing in a meaningful way preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
- A minimum of two years’ experience writing immigration petitions and correspondence is helpful but not required.
- Ability to interact with attorneys to finalize written product required.
