Adams and Reese LLP, an AMLAW 200 firm with offices in the Southern United States and Washington, D.C is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO).
The position has responsibility for all operational aspects of the firm, including financial management, administration, technology and information services, human resources, facilities, and risk management and must ensure that the firm has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, people and systems in place to support the firm’s strategic goals and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency.
The COO at the direction of the Managing Partner will work closely with the Executive Committee to develop and refine organizational and business goals, strategic business plans, and administrative policies, to evaluate growth opportunities and to effectively integrate post combination those opportunities the firm pursues.
Preferably candidates will have fifteen or more years of progressively responsible work experience with a multi-office legal or other professional service organizations. Prior experience in a similar role is preferred.
Independent thinking skills with strength in problem solving and the ability to offer constructive opinions and creative solutions.
Ability to structure and process qualitative or quantitative data, analyze and arrive at sound business conclusions from the analysis.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively interact and motivate individuals at all levels of the organization.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
A Bachelor’s degree or higher in an area of business administration, business management, finance, accounting, human resources, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
Other professional certifications such as CPA, CLM, or SHRM desirable.
