Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is seeking a Technology Training Manager to join our IT Department in our Denver office. This role is a wonderful opportunity to be responsible for the delivery of the firm’s technology education and training programs.
The Technology Training Manager will assess, develop and coordinate the training programs to meet the departmental needs and those of our employees. In conjunction with subject matter experts and others in our IT Department, the Technology Training Manager will design, deliver and evaluate the training processes to assure the quality of the training programs and measurable results. This position will include conducting regular training sessions for individuals as well as small to large groups in-person and via webinars.
The responsibilities are focused on the following general areas of responsibility:
Implements the Brownstein Training program, including:
Identifying training classes to be implemented by working with end user and IT groups to determine training needs
Scheduling and holding training sessions
Creating and maintaining training materials, both hard copy and electronic
Providing training statistics to HR for employee performance analysis
Provides “Tips and Tricks” type training through various mediums including email
Contributes content regarding training initiatives and software how-to’s to the IT newsletter
Works with the Application and Help Desk teams to provide software testing services in preparation for rollouts of new software and/or procedures
Works with the Application, QA, and Help Desk teams to incorporate training needs into the timing of software and desktop rollouts and to determine rollout schedules
Provides software support for end users including but not limited to
First level support for SmartTime and ShoreTel (MAC work),
Second level support for Best Authority, DocX Tools, Forte, Workshare, Chrome River, Microsoft Office, and Nuance
Supports the New Business Intake (NBI) software and onboarding/offboarding activities and tasks
Will work with stakeholders in IT and other Brownstein departments to analyze and improve Onboarding and Offboarding procedures and policies, specifically regarding the delivery of in-person and LMS based training
Will work with the Cyber Security training program to implement e-Learning materials for annual training purposes and track and report to the CISO on the metrics for that effort.
Will work with the IT Director to develop a monthly report, to be distributed to selected individuals w/in the IT, HR, and Administration departments, that provides information and metrics on Firm training efforts
Will work with contract trainers to orient them to Brownstein training materials, logistics, and styles and incorporate them into the training offerings for the Firm. Will monitor and track contract trainers to ensure acceptable performance and will address any deficiencies as needed, up to and including recommending termination of the contract for cause.
We are seeking an individual with a minimum of ten years of experience as a technology trainer, preferably from within a law firm and/or professional services environment, who possesses a bachelor’s degree.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite, Windows operating systems, telephony, mobile devices, and have excellent communications skills both verbally and written. This role is best suited for an individual who values working in a team environment and who thrives in teaching others the skills necessary to be successful in their individual positions.
