The purpose of this unpaid internship is to prepare college juniors and seniors for entry into the business world by providing a thorough understanding of the Information Technology Department functions of an association.
Information Systems Intern duties:
Coordinate and execute onboarding and offboarding staff resources across multiple systems.
Learn and develop skills in information technology to include user creation, group management, and troubleshooting issues in common IT platforms.
Gain hands-on practical experience to the full gamut of Help Desk roles and responsibilities.
Develop skills to communicate with internal ILTA clients as well as ILTA Members and Business Partners. Includes prompt, accurate, and courteous responses.
Documentation and continuous improvement of business processes for customer service, including the development of FAQs, decision trees, and template communication.
Assist in the installation of PC hardware and software.
Assist the IT team with current projects. Perform special projects as determined by the Information Technology staff.
Assist in Needs Analysis for projects, including research for solutions to fulfill needs, documentation of business requirements, and corresponding approach.
Assist in updating user and technical documentation.
Assist in managing, maintaining, developing, designing, and updating the company intranet and website.
Gain substantial knowledge into association and technology industries.
This is a Remote position.
On-the-job training will occur daily at the direction of the intern supervisor.
Schedule will be flexible based on student schedule and academic responsibilities. An ideal candidate will work roughly 16-20 hours per week.
Duration of the role is flexible based on the career aspirations of the applicant, but ideally will not be shorter than three months.

The primary incentive in this program is the opportunity to investigate a career opportunity in the information technology industry with hands on experience prior to graduation. Once completed, the intern will have sufficient knowledge necessary to determine if a career in information technology is the right opportunity to pursue.
You will work directly with the IT Support & Operations Administrator to manage the Help Desk and work on special projects.
You will develop skills vitally important in today’s business environment including: - Team-based interaction. - Managing outcomes without having direct authority over others. - Provide insight in the definition and direction of the association’s initiatives. - You will gain an understanding of the day-to-day operations of supporting an association.
