We have the opportunity for an experienced Electronic Research Services Administrator to join the firm’s Knowledge Management department. The Electronic Research Services Administrator will manage the firm’s electronic research tools to support information needs and business initiatives. The position reports to the Sr. Manager of Research Services and may be based in one of our national Ogletree offices.
Manages electronic research subscriptions portfolio, including tracking spend
Participates in the evaluation of new and updated versions of research tools to determine if subscribing is warranted
Develops and maintains vendor relations
Troubleshoots access issues with research tools
Manages user lists and licenses for various electronic resources, including participating in renewal discussions with vendors
Generates usage reports for electronic resources to identify opportunities for training or cost savings
Manages platform migrations and rollouts of new services, including coordinating vendor training for end users
Works with office administration to identify opportunities to transition from print to electronic subscriptions
Identifies electronic resources and applications that facilitate and improve cost-effective and efficient information delivery
Manages custom news reports and publication alerts for firm leadership, attorneys, and administrative staff
Manages electronic entries and electronic resources patron lists in the ILS
Coordinates with vendors and IT for updates to software-based solutions and testing
Manages resource listings in usage tracking software
Works on special projects to support Knowledge Management, other administrative departments, and practice groups
Participates in collaborative Research Services meetings (video conference)
Identifies opportunities for process improvement as it relates to the position’s responsibilities and Research Services department
Assists attorneys and staff via phone, email, and video conferences
Keeps abreast of available resources applicable to the position’s responsibilities and developments with existing resources
Collaborates with the Knowledge Management team to develop and implement innovative products and services
Participates in professional development through internal and external education opportunities and involvement in professional associations
Maintains strict confidentiality of firm matters
Uses resources in compliance with firm’s policies
Models qualities and performance desired in firm employees, including attendance, professionalism, and quality work product
Bachelor’s degree required, MLS preferred
7+ years of experience in a law firm research/library services department preferred with at least 3 years of experience overseeing electronic services
Working knowledge of legal and business research tools, including Westlaw, Lexis Advance, Bloomberg Law, CHEETAH, CNS, PACER, Hoover’s, Monitor Suite, Accurint, TLO, Manzama, Newsdesk
Experience with GeniePlus ILS and Research Monitor
Working knowledge of Microsoft applications Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Experience with video conferencing tools Teams and Skype for Business
Possesses excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, facilitating effective working relationships
Ability to work independently and efficiently under time constraints and be able to thrive within the firm's highly dynamic environment
Effectively collaborates with others, customer service focused, and adept at handling multiple projects and shifting priorities
Initiative and problem-solving abilities
Keen interest in innovation and technology with a proven track record of improving information delivery and workflow efficiencies
