Levenfeld Pearlstein, a mid-sized Chicago law firm, seeks a full-time IT Manager to assist with technical support and network management. The IT Manager is responsible for working with a managed service provider to maintain all aspects of network infrastructure including servers, desktop systems, communications, hardware/software. The IT Manager also supervises the IT team and coordinates relationships with outsourced vendors. Supervisory experience strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and thrive in a team environment, while still possessing initiative and drive.
Responsibilities:
Manage the day to day operations of the IT department. This includes working with the firm’s Managed Services provider to ensure all systems are maintained and functioning correctly.
Manage staff including training, scheduling and performance management; Conducts regular one-on-one meetings with staff and provides guidance and feedback to support the team in growing their skills.
Develop and implement procedures for the IT team to follow.
Develops and manages, with the support of the Director of Information Technology, the operating budgets and proposals.
Implement and supports the IT strategic plan.
Manage small to medium sized projects according to agreed upon budgets and schedules.
Requirements:
Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or Business Administration; supplemented with courses in current technology
At least 5 years of relevant law firm experience
Solid experience in Windows network administration and Microsoft Office application support
Working knowledge of Office 365
Demonstrated ability to administer a 250+ node network
Demonstrated ability to support networked printers and photocopiers
Demonstrated working knowledge of current communications devices and protocols, server and desktop technologies
Ability to negotiate hardware/software service and technical support contracts with vendors
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously
Experience with supervising, coaching, and mentoring of support personnel
Facilitation and change management skills
Highly developed verbal and written communications
Position may require lifting and moving equipment in excess of 75 pounds
Ability to work occasional weekend hours to perform system maintenance
