HBR Consulting LLC Strategic Sourcing and Business Optimization (SSBO) provides strategic and operational services to clients in the legal industry; primarily Amlaw200 firms and legal department. SSBO services firms and companies in managing and/or reducing expenses, optimizing business processes and increasing operational efficiencies. The SSBO team is a highly talented and cross functional group of professionals who provide unique and unparallel solutions to our clients through data analytics, leading industry knowledge and area expertise. To ensure exceptional service and successful client engagements, project and client teams comprise of various levels of expertise, knowledge and talent to ensure the exceptional service. As a part of HBR Consulting’s SSBO team a Manager (RIS) provides specific area focus and experience in research and information services within legal law libraries. Overall, this role is responsible for applying research and information services knowledge and experience to our client engagements. The following are specific responsibilities of the Manager, RIS role: - Manage RIS project (s) and/or engagement(s) to achieve both internal and external goals including, but not limited to revenue, outcomes and contractual terms through effective project management and planning, annual or vendor renewal plans, resource utilization, financial and profitability reporting and tracking, and effective communication with direct manager(s), project team and client stakeholders
- Lead the management of RIS project(s) and client team(s) in effectively executing on RIS services and deliverables; including but not limited to vendor renewals and management, managing part/whole of the client’s legal library, managing retrieval and/or research services and providing RIS strategic advisory services through assessments and strategic leadership support
- Effective summary/delivery of client data and information, insights and recommendations
- Ensure successful project and engagement management by client team collaboration, leverage internal intellectual property and knowledge, prepare and present meeting materials, identifying process improvements and efficiencies, vendor negotiations and implementation and communication with both internal team members as well as external area stakeholders
- Strategic ownership and delivery of client deliverables including, but not limited to, current state assessment, annual planning/reporting, KPI measurements and tracking, client invoicing and fees, client engagement renewals
- Partnership with Director+ levels on business development activities and execution; including sales materials and proposals, building strong stakeholder relationships, expanding and extending relationships and service offerings
- Lead creation of internal processes, standards, workflows and resources to effectively deliver on RIS services/solutions
