Snell & Wilmer is one of the largest and most prestigious law firms in the Western United States, with more than 400 attorneys. The Firm is currently seeking an Attorney Development Manager. This position requires good knowledge of the legal profession, strong listening skills, and good judgment. Law firm experience and HR experience are preferred. The individual selected will be exceptionally strong at building relationships and maintaining confidentiality. Work is performed under the direction of the Attorney Development Committee (ADC) and the Director of Attorney Recruiting and Development. The position is based in Phoenix, but regular travel to other offices is required.
Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Meet with Associates in all offices to assess their development and discuss any concerns.
Provide coaching for associates to help them attain goals. This may include arranging for outside assistance.
Coordinate mentor program for attorneys at the Firm.
Provide administrative support the Attorney Development Committee, Litigation Training Committee and Women’s Initiative Committee;
Summarize Associate input and provide feedback to the ADC regarding general trends and developmental needs.
Conduct attorney exit interviews; summarize feedback for Firm management.
Recommend new programs and benefits to the ADC, to address specific Associate needs.
Oversee annual Associate evaluation and upward feedback processes.
Coordinate training programs, including litigation training and new associate orientation.
Coordinate lateral integration of all attorneys at the Firm.
Oversee CLE training opportunities and compliance.
Coordinate networking events for all attorneys.
Provide input to the Attorney retreat planning process.
