This position is open to new JD graduates as well as experienced attorneys looking to relocate and enjoy the benefits of rural life and practice.
Associate attorneys perform a variety of tasks under supervision and should be familiar with standard legal concepts and procedures. Specific duties will include:
Meeting and communicating with clients;
Drafting and filing of transactional, estate planning, and court documents;
Overseeing real estate and asset sales and purchases from offer to closing;
Handling all aspects of litigation cases from responsive pleadings, discovery, and and trial; and
Managing client files.
We're looking for an attorney seeking to live and work long-term in a rural community while offering sophisticated representation and planning to clients with a variety of legal issues. Specifically candidates should have the following:
A Juris Doctorate degree;
Admission to practice law or plans to take the bar exam in Iowa;
Effective oral and written communication skills;
A readiness to learn and grow as an attorney; and
A willingness to engage and participate in the community.
Additional Salary Information: Commensurate with experience.
