Scopelitis, Garvin, Light, Hanson & Feary, a nationwide law firm based in downtown Indianapolis, seeks a Data and Litigation Support Analyst.
The primary responsibility of the Data and Litigation Support Analyst (DLSA) is to oversee and coordinate all aspects of litigation support matters in conjunction with the Firm’s litigation support team, including the day-to-day support of data management, review, production, and case organization. The DLSA has an in-depth understanding of e-discovery, litigation lifecycle, and litigation technologies, while working alongside our legal teams and clients to provide the best options and solutions throughout the litigation process. In addition to traditional litigation support duties, the DLSA position will work with legal teams on data analysis projects in support of the development of exposure analyses and other pertinent summaries of client-provided data, including hours of service, load and pay data.
DLSA duties and responsibilities will include the following:
Organizes and normalizes data from one or more sources and prepares data for quantitative and qualitative analysis.
With attorney supervision, creates quantitative analyses of client-provided data in order to understand potential client exposure in class action litigation.
Consults with attorneys, other professional staff, and clients to provide guidance regarding electronic discovery best practices and most appropriate use of technology to support client matters including data collection, data processing, and document production.
Serves as the single point of contact for case team attorneys, paralegals, IT staff, and vendors involved with the case.
Assists in developing/maintaining best practices for litigation management.
Keeps abreast of technology offerings from electronic discovery service providers and software vendors, evaluates vendors, negotiates pricing and makes recommendations to the legal teams based on the needs of the case.
Manages and supports all cases in ediscovery management system throughout the duration of a case, including creating user accounts, granting access, creating review layouts and assisting with searches.
Facilitates completion of various tasks including keyword searches, analysis of client data and filtering of system files and non-responsive file type culling, privilege logs, coding, depositions and general trial preparation.
Maintains accurate chain-of-custody records.
Provides on-site trial support.
Other duties as assigned.
In-depth knowledge of litigation methodologies, processes, and technology gained through a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in project management and litigation support, including data processing and document review platforms.
Solid knowledge of electronic discovery, available litigation technology software, and the use of electronic evidence in the litigation process.
In-depth Excel skills, including the use of pivot summaries, power query, date/time formulas, and normalization of data for analysis.
SQL and database knowledge a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Candidates with experience with ediscovery management systems such as Relativity, Casepoint, Case Notebook, and Trial Director, as well as experience with data visualization software such as Monarch Datawatch and database management a plus.
