The IT Support Technician is a Junior to Mid-level IT professional reporting to the Firm’s IT Manager. This technician is responsible for the day-to-day activities of supporting desktop, network hardware and software functions for the end-user community of the Firm. This position is primarily user problem resolution focused, requiring excellent customer service and communication skills, technical knowledge and PC/Laptop expertise. It also requires some network and server maintenance.
The role is a permanent full-time position based in the Firm’s office in Midtown Manhattan. This is not a remote position.
Identify, diagnose and resolve technical problems for users in both office and remote locations.
Prepare workstations, laptops, install/update common software
Install security updates and ensure proper security posture on all systems
Troubleshoot application problems, software compatibility issues and integration issues.
Engage 3rd party vendors when needed and coordinate to achieve a successful resolution.
Manage Windows servers including domain controllers, file servers, application servers, and remote desktop servers.
Support network components (Routers, switches, wireless) to ensure connectivity
Qualified candidates will have:
Three to five years' experience in a desktop PC maintenance position, preferably in a professional services organization (LEGAL BACKGROUND PREFERRED.)
Experience troubleshooting, resolving, and documenting issues in a network environment.
Familiarity with the Firm Standard Operating Systems and software (Microsoft Windows, Office, Server, SQL, and Exchange, Mitel, etc.).
