Cozen O’Connor is seeking a lawyer to join the Information Technology Department as a Practice Solutions Manager. This is a full time position with no billable hour requirement.
This position will work directly with Firm lawyers, business professionals, and key external partners to drive technology awareness, design, integration and adoption into the practice of law. The Practice Solutions Manager must have practical experience as a litigation attorney plus extensive experience designing solutions using modern technology tools used in the practice of law.
The primary goal of this position to drive new processes and solutions in legal teams across the Firm by rising awareness of available technical solutions, identify opportunities for improvement, organize learning opportunities and training materials, and socialize/train lawyers on technical solutions in order to provide firm clients with the best possible experience.
The Practice Solutions Manager must be detail oriented with the ability to translate requirements of the legal practice to technology solutions within the firm available on the market. The candidate must be skilled working with lawyers from a variety of practice areas, legal staff, IT professionals and vendors while fostering positive relationships. The Practice Solutions Manager must be able to translate the benefits of a given application to attorneys at all levels of the firm both in title and technical aptitudes.
Interview lawyers and from a variety of practice areas to understand their unique workflows, practice requirements and technologies to determine gaps and areas where technology solutions will create efficiencies.
Coach, mentor, motivate, and influence attorneys to take advantage of technologies that will assist their given practice. Attend practice group meetings to facilitate the sharing of best practices and knowledge.
Identify technologies available in the market and assist in the selection of tools that can help support attorneys and clients.
Effectively communicate expectations and status in a timely and clear fashion.
Create and socialize a training plan and training materials for attorneys.
Develop and conduct training for attorneys (one on ones and demonstrations)
Stay current with both legal practices and firm technology.
Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
JD required with 3+ years of practice experience.
Passion for knowledge-sharing, efficiency and excellence in legal work.
Experience with legal technology, such as document automation, artificial intelligence and collaboration platforms.
Ability to travel from time to time.
Proven ability to handle multiple priorities and adjust to changing requirements in dynamic environment.
