Overview
The Knowledge Management (KM) Project Manager will be a central part of the KM team responsible for the management of projects related to the development, administration and management of the Firm's KM program. Under the direction of the KM Leadership, the primary role of the KM Project Manager will be to manage projects that support knowledge management systems and processes. The Project Manager works directly with department leaders and other stakeholders to align business and technical requirements, define and execute project plans and employ change management strategies to maximize adoption and further the firm's knowledge management goals. S/he will contribute to the development of project management methodologies and best practices across the team. This role will work closely with IT, Marketing and other business functions, as needed.
Responsibilities
In coordination with KM leadership:
- Analyze business goals, specific practice and department needs, use cases, functional requirements and end-user experience expectations in order to align effective technology and process solutions
- Establish tracking reporting standards to measure and communicate progress on individual projects and against strategic goals
- Lead projects to develop and implement enhancements to various systems including the experience management platform, enterprise search and the practice collaborations sites, among others
- Identify opportunities to improve and/or add to the Knowledge Management Technologies and related processes and integration sources
- Develop project requirements and governance documentation including requirements analysis, project plans, status reports and change management plans

Education and/or Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
- Minimum of five years of experience in a law firm, corporate legal department or professional services environment working with practice-related information and processes
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments with competing deadlines and priorities
- Experience managing projects from inception through planning, execution and completion
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in mapping business processes, conducting needs analysis and aligning functional and technical requirements
- Demonstrated experience managing process improvement, software development and/or technology implementation initiatives with an emphasis on maximizing adoption
Preferred:
- Familiarity with legal technology such as experience or expertise systems, research tools, work flow systems and/or legal project management or practice management tools
- Basic understanding of law firm structure and business practices, as well as practice-specific terminology
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies, as well as change management strategies
