Lewis Rice LLC has an opening for a Business Systems Analyst. The primary function in this role is to expand the Firm’s use of data intake, cleansing, integration, extraction and analysis to support decision making. This role will be the liaison between business/legal teams and IT to validate customer requirements for deployment of new business applications. The Business Systems Analyst will provide support and training to users to facilitate rapid adoption of applications. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct business process analyses, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefits analyses in an effort to align information technology solutions with business initiatives
- Work with business users to define and analyze problems and align the most appropriate technical, application or configuration solutions
- Consider the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment
- Gather business requirements, analyze, provide conceptual and detail design to meet business needs, performing necessary application configurations
- Manage project timelines, risks, priorities, estimates, and customer commitments
- Use critical thinking and troubleshooting abilities to formulate cost effective solutions for our technical consumers and clients
- Participate as a project team member to develop solutions, with an eye to design and develop effective reports and dashboards for the prescribed audiences
- Develop and document specifications for new and existing reports
- Participate in software application selection, customization and configuration
- Assist in the development of training materials
- Adhere to change management best practices
- Provides consultative services by actively participating on numerous cross-functional teams and projects, as well as troubleshooting inquiries and issues from multiple departments
- Researches complex problems to ascertain possible solutions
- Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience in technology
- Three or more years of experience in similar filed required
- Experience in the legal or professional services industry is preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience utilizing SQL to build queries, create tables and views, and develop reports in normalized relational databases
- Knowledge of the concepts, principles, management, and delivery of data analytics services
- Proficient with, or able to quickly become proficient with a range of specialized applications, software, and tools in the legal vertical, i.e., document management systems, contact management systems, timekeeping applications, online collaboration, and communication tools, etc.
- Strong project management and organizational skills; ability to handle multiple deadlines
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and an aptitude for technical concepts
- Ability to manage changing priorities, meet deadlines and adapt to a changing business environment
- Initiative, positive attitude, team orientation, self-motivated and enthusiastic
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of effectively capturing and communicating technical information at all levels
- Knowledge of and experience with legal business software is a plus, including: NetDocuments, IntApp Time and Terms, Thomson Reuters 3E, Acrobat Pro, DocXtools, Workshare, and others
