Dykema Gossett PLLC, a leading national law firm, is recruiting for a Lateral Recruiting Specialist. This incumbent may reside in our California, Illinois, Michigan, Texas, Washington, D.C., or Wisconsin locations. As a member of Dykema’s Legal Recruiting & Development Team, the Lateral Recruiting Specialist will support the firm’s lateral attorney recruiting, integration, and retention processes, for both associate and member hires to bring in exceptional legal talent.
Position responsibilities
Incumbent will work with Legal Recruiting Team to drive all aspects of the lateral associate and member recruiting and integration processes, including but not limited to:
- drafting job descriptions; sourcing and contacting candidates; and coordinating interviews;
-collecting feedback and providing candidate status updates and recommendations to Legal Recruiting Managers, Senior Director, and other stakeholders in accordance with strategic goals;
-establishing and building relationships with external search firms;
-coordinating onboarding and supporting integration efforts;
-supporting diversity & inclusion initiatives including Mansfield Certification and applying objective hiring procedures;
-preparing and analyzing associate and member recruiting data and statistics;
-working collaboratively with the Legal Recruiting & Development Team, other administrative departments, and additional stakeholders to execute successful onboarding and orientation, and integration of lateral associates and members;
-implementing, reviewing, and analyzing recruiting and integration feedback and surveys;
-tracking, analyzing, and reporting on lateral performance, utilization, and strategic recruiting goals;
-supporting other national recruiting programs and initiatives, such as OCI/Summer Associate Program, as necessary;
-collecting and reporting industry-related news and data as requested.

Position Requirements
-Bachelor’s degree;
-Three (3) plus years of prior high-volume legal or corporate recruiting experience;
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, good judgment, a professional and friendly demeanor, and strong professional and ethical standards;
-ability to interact with all levels of personnel while demonstrating a professional and service oriented demeanor;
-ability to establish effective working relationships throughout the firm;
-ability to prioritize work and multitask in a fast paced environment;
-High motivation, creativity, flexibility, and ability to work well under pressure;
-willingness to be mentored by experienced professionals to execute job responsibilities;
-possess strong organizational, administrative and time-management skills;
-strong Microsoft Office skills including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint;
-experience using an applicant tracking system.
