The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for the maintenance of financial reports, HR records, and general ledgers; perform general bookkeeping and assist with the budget preparation and analysis.
Responsibilities
Accounting Responsibilities
Work on month-end close in the accounting system and perform account and cash reconciliations
Work on taxes, including but not limited to 1099 preparation
Work on broker accounts
Prepare journal entries and month end reconciliations
Interface with internal teams to provide accurate customer billing
Analyze with Concur expenses and work with 3rd party part-time controller on reviewing budget to actual for the year
Become the expert of ILTA’s accounting applications: SAP Concur and Sage Intacct
Create, maintain and sunset accounting policies
Work on monthly cash flow forecast
Collaborate with consultant to complete annual UK VAT refund filing
Work on insurance for standard business operations
Complete other finance projects as needed
Human Resource Responsibilities
Manage employee files in accordance with the federal and state labor laws
Work on upcoming benefit renewals
Help with unemployment, workers compensation and other with employment claims and insurance renewals.
Assist COO with other HR related matters
Manage travel process for staff and volunteers
Perform research as needed for new volunteers and internships
Create, maintain and sunset HR policies
Additional Responsibilities
Review and edit various contracts, including sponsorship, vendor, and non-disclosure agreements
Research and analyze applicable statutes, laws, and legal documents to help with language in contracts
Expertise in contracted finance and operations
Maintain annual report documents for various state filings
Internal Relations
Reports to the Chief Operating Officer
Manages one direct report
External Relations
Works closely with ILTA’s 3rd party part-time controller
Additional Requirements
Demonstrate experience with accounting best practices: closing books, expense and invoice management, financial reporting, etc.
Working knowledge of GAAP
